Have tried several Bins Stores in the Augusta Ga. / North Augusta SC. Area.
The Bin Store on Peach Ord Rd. is still getting its act together.
Entrance signs post one price, and a ball pen written sheet of paper at the checkout counter posts the TODAY price. Initially a great Bins Store, but lately just too much just plain junk, not worth it. The owner has pallets that he sells for $200 to $500+, but buyers don’t need 3 to 10 of the same items.
The Gordon Hwy Bins has had its Hay day a good while back. Now it’s limping along. But still some great items if you dig deep. I just have not found any worth the price the last 2 visits.
The North Augusta Bins Store on Martintown Rd. is currently the best of the 3 bins stores in the immediate area. It is well lit, heated or cooled. Lots items covering many categories. Thursday $1 still has many items worth many times more. The Store is well managed and has plenty of friendly staff. The 1 issue I frequently hear from other Bins scroungers, there are NO Public Restrooms there or within a 1/4+ mile.
UPDATE – AUGUSTA AREA
Well, the North Augusta, SC. BIN’s Store closed and moved to Grovetown GA.
It split into 2 LOCATIONS.
One location is for the usual personal home type buyer. It is in a much smaller size store. Which is about 1/2 its original size. It usually has “some” good items on Fridays’s, but is quickly picked over and those are gone before 2-3pm.
The other location is a Pallet Sales setup for Resellers and Flea Market vedors.
Unless some serious adjustments are made, we maybe could be losing our last area BINS stores in later 2025

There’s Dollar Dealz in Calhoun and Cartersville. There’s another bin store in Cartersville—I can’t remember the name. In Summerville, there’s the High 5 Bargain Bins.

Hi Dwain, Check out this info on running a bin store. Also if you have Facebook, there are some private bin store owner groups you can join where they discuss the business and also sometimes have their bin stores for sale.
My own best advice is that owning a bin store requires a good amount of money, especially since you’ll need to keep purchasing fresh inventory. Truckload pricing has increased and many stores have trouble making a profit. Adding in individually priced, liquidation store style pricing on more expensive items in addition to the daily price dropping bins seems to be the best way for stores to succeed. Some have even gone to just full on liquidation stores with no bins, or they do have bins but have static prices instead of the daily drop.

The Douglas, GA store has been closed since around the 1st of January.. Their Facebook page is no longer accessible, either. Today as I drove by, they may (or may not) have been moving out. Two workers’ cars were there and an open tractor-trailer contained some big merchandise. Other merchandise sat on a small forklift outside the front door. A few workers were outside with the merchandise. I was driving by while in heavy traffic, so I don’t know the store’s status. Judging by their mysterious month-long closing, and the activity I briefly saw, they may be closing for good.

Today I saw a Google post that the Douglas store re-opened on February 2nd; however, their Facebook page is still closed. Tomorrow (the 8th, 2024). I plan to drive there for confirmation. I will post the latest here, after I find out.
